The 2008 Beijing Olympics reached a glorious conclusion this Sunday and Nike of course, did not allow it to pass without leaving a strong mark in both Sports and Fashion history. This is perhaps why they released the commemorative pair of Air Force 1 – shiny, gold-like, sneakers of the champs that perfectly fit Olympic glory.

The new shoe is fashioned in bright metallic gold. To pay respect to the China where the 2008 Olympics is held, there is a Chinese motif in the upper part of the sneakers. The body of the golden sneakers is imbued with intricate abstract designs. The designs are pretty much what you can see in the columns and roofs of traditional famous Chinese templates.

Get the Nike Air Force 1 and you will have it packed in a classic black 08/08/08 box. The shoe is available starting August 25. I just hope they’ll make one specifically designed for the new Dream Team!

Lupe Fiasco and N.E.R.D. Complex Magazines and Videos

It’s a wild treat from a two superstars. Lupe Fiasco and N.E.R.D. cooked up something great on a separate dish, that’s all thanks to Complex Magazine. The two stars bang up in a hip and stylish cover featuring art contributions from KAWS and Todd James.

KAWS’ popular Bendy served as the background for N.E.R.D.’s three members in a looney design! And yeah, scroll down for the pictures later and drool over Pharell’s cool shades.

Todd James on the other hand gave an out of this world background to Lupe Fiasco. And you can take that literally as Lupe poses like throwing a glass of cold water from outer space.

If you guys aren’t solved with the magazine covers, then maybe the videos could satisfy you. Nike Dunk Wi-Fi Sneakers

This may be a fashion and tech marriage overboard but until WiFi detection devices become a thing of the past, I wouldn’t say that this WiFi detection sneakers is not “fashionable”.

The idea was simple. Nike gets a WiFi detector, installs it in the flap of Nike shoes, connects the device to LEDs and then names it WiFi Nike Dunks. You got now one hell of a shoe that truly kicks! This snooping device can detect WiFi signal of up to 50 meters far. The LEDs blinks if the signal is low and it lights up continuously once the signal is at maximum.

Clearly, this ASDR (A Step in the Right Direction) shoe may not be as trendy as it may first appear but, undeniably the concept is head-turning.

Perhaps a net-addicted yuppie will love this, or your gamer buddy who has their brains stuck to his WoW character no matter where he goes. What's good about this is that there is no need to pull out your gadget every time you want to check a spot for connectivity. Nooka Watches - Glow in the Dark

This news is truly a time-stealer! Our favourite brand of watch, Nooka overhauled its Zub watch to give it a Glow in the Dark finish. The classy Zub series even got more hyped and funky as the company replaced its strap with a special luminous light emitting material.

Zub’s unique and abstract manner of time-telling using changing LED bars to tell time is of course still there, but the Glow in the Dark finish more than compliments the original design. So if anybody would tell you that these Nooka watches are bold, daring, fashion forward and futuristic – they surely aren’t lying.

Now what’s with the hype and the apparent royalty of this new watch? Well primarily, since this watch was made to honour the successful Glow in the Dark Tour featuring Kanye West, N*E*R*D, Lupe Fiasco and Rihanna, it should really be something special. The watches were given to the artists and few people behind the concert after the show in Las Vegas. There are only 15 pieces of this special edition watch made, so you currently have no choice but to wait your time to have one of these. Kashi Kicks is a Pittsburgh based company that makes unique sneaker designs. The Kashi brand, the “shoes that shine”, started with one vision: To bring in the fashion world, especially in the sneaker and accessory industry, an approach that defies the traditional way of making things.

These limited edition jackets mix the Spiewak expertise in armed field jackets with Kidrobots colourful and bold designs.

Spiewak has updated its M-43 Field Jacket, which saw action in World War II, by adding additional pocket for music player and other modern gadgets. Here is a video of Evisu's top paint writer, Mr Kobayashi hard at work. Check out the detail and the effort put into the jeans, which is mimicked in every single pair.

The jeans that are being painted are Deluxe prototypes for SS08 and were painted as a special souvenir. The purple colour paint is “Osaka Purple” which they only paint in Osaka shops (Tokyo has navy blue, and other stores have unique colors), and the characters on the right pocket say Osaka.

We saw A Bathing Ape drop the DC comics tees, hoodies and sweaters but now we see them strapping Batman to people's feet. Much anticipated, the Bapestas DC comics signature models will be released in mid July. Again there is Batman, Superman, Wonder Woman and The Flash. The kicks feature each superhero's signature colors and a small comic face on the back to stare at the crooks lying on the floor as you flee the scene after defeated them.

Personally all of them are fresh kicks. The whole concept of Bape and DC Comics is ingenious. The colorways of each shoe is perfect and would look hot and anyone's feet.

Billionaire Boys Club have already come out with their "waffle" hoodies and t-shirts which are shown on their site. So would it be right to not release a "waffle" Ice Cream shoe? For the past two years Ice Cream has been releasing their signature board flips which proved to be a unique, different and overall a nice pair of kicks.

Now Ice Cream are looking at the sweeter side of life and will release a low top, very unique "waffle" shoe in October 2007 retailing for $US200. The shoe features an all over waffle design with splats of butter for added flavour.

Personally these kicks aren't my cup of tea or should I say "waffles for the morning" but it will be very interesting to see Pharrell or Terry Kennedy in a pair of these.

Reebok in collaboration with Ice Cream released an Ice Cream sneaker line. Ice Cream Reebok board flips have been released as Ice Creams skateboard kicks. Pharrell was created his own skateboard team called "Team Ice Cream" consisting of Terry Kennedy, Cato Williams, Jimmy Gorecki, Kevin Booker and Jacob Walder. They represent "real street skating".

BAPE or A Bathing Ape is a Japanese clothing company started in 1993 by Nigo (real name Tomoaki Nagao). It originated as a T-shirt brand in the Harajuku area of Shibuya in Tokyo, becoming one of the first Japanese streetwear brands. The brand was launched out of a tiny Harajuku storefront called "BUSY WORKSHOP". Bape's logo and themes are derived from the original Planet of the Apes movies, while the brand's name is based on a common Japanese saying, "bathing in lukewarm water", describing the comfortable lifestyle of today's youth in Japan.

Bape's main focus is on clothing and produces a variety of clothing items, including but not limited to: shirts, polos, sweatshirts, parkas, jackets, denim, and most notably, "Bape Stas," a shoe very closely resembling the Nike Air Force One.

Nigo has grown his brand far beyond the walls of his backstreet clothing store and underground identity. BAPE is now not just a clothing line but also a chain of stored extending internationally to Hong Kong, London and New York as well as a hair salon, record label, galler, cafe and even the limited edition BAPE pepsi can.
